Balbina

Privacy Policy

Effective September 20, 2026

Balbina is a daily ritual app: a morning forecast, an evening check-in, a tarot pull, a symbol for the day. Making any of that feel personal means holding some real information about you. This page explains plainly what we collect, why, who else touches it, and how to make all of it disappear whenever you want.

01Who we are

Balbina (“we”, “us”) is a daily ritual app for iPhone, and this website is its home on the web. It is operated by Vitor Lourenço, an individual based in Spain, who is responsible for your information. This policy covers both the app and the website. You can reach us at balbina@balbina.app.

02Information we collect

We collect information you give us directly, information the app generates as you use it, and a small amount of device information.

CategoryWhat it includesWhy we need it
Account Your email address. If you sign in with Apple or Google, the email and name they share with us (Apple may give us a private relay address instead of your real email). If you sign up with email, a password, which we never see in readable form. Creating and securing your account, handled by our authentication provider, Supabase
Profile Birth date, location (the city you type, not GPS), display name, chosen voice, evening check-in time Birth date and location power your Sun Sign, Biorhythm and weather-aware forecast. Your voice shapes how everything is written to you.
Daily activity Morning mood, evening reflections (“3 good things”, “3 things to improve”, your stated worry or goal), whether you completed a mission, which Tarot card you pulled The raw material your forecast and evening ritual are built from
Generated content Your daily forecast text, affirmation, mission, mantra, symbol, and Tarot readings Stored so today's ritual is there when you open the app, and so you can look back
Device A push notification token, only if you allow notifications Delivering your reminders

We do not collect payment information. We do not use analytics or advertising tools in the app, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not access your GPS location, contacts or photos.

This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics scripts. Like any website host, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes basic technical data, such as your IP address, to deliver the pages.

03How we use it

  • To generate your personalized forecast, affirmation, mission, and closing line each day
  • To calculate your Sun Sign and Biorhythm cycles from your birth date
  • To fetch real local weather for your forecast, using your stated city
  • To write everything in the voice you have selected
  • To generate a Tarot reading when you pull a card, grounded in that day's forecast
  • To send the reminders you have asked for, and occasional messages from us, such as a gentle nudge if you have not opened the app in a while, or an announcement about the app
  • To diagnose bugs and keep the app running, and never to build an advertising profile

If you are in the EU or UK, this rests on three things: providing the app you signed up for, your consent where you give it (for example notifications, or signing in with Apple or Google), and our legitimate interest in keeping the app secure and fixing problems.

Balbina's astrology, Tarot, and biorhythm content is offered as reflective, entertaining framing. It is not fact, medical guidance, or financial advice.

04Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. A small number of service providers process it on our behalf, strictly to run the app:

  • Supabase Hosts our database and handles account sign-in. Nearly everything in the table above lives here.
  • Anthropic (Claude), via OpenRouter Generates your forecast, affirmation, mission, and Tarot reading text. The prompt sent to generate this can include your mood, sun sign, biorhythm values, recent reflections, and the day's weather, but never your email or password.
  • Xweather Supplies real local weather for your forecast, using the city you entered.
  • Expo, Apple and Google (notifications) Expo's push service passes our messages on to Apple's and Google's notification systems, which deliver them to your device using your device's push token.
  • Apple and Google (sign-in) If you choose Sign in with Apple or Google, they confirm who you are and share the details described in section 02.
  • Spaceship (email) Delivers our account verification and password-reset emails, sent from our balbina.app address, to your address.
  • Cloudflare Hosts this website.

Some of these providers process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where the law requires it, we rely on the transfer safeguards those providers offer.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Balbina or our users.

05How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as your account is active, so your history of forecasts and reflections stays available to you. If you delete your account (see the next section), your profile and every record tied to it are permanently removed, not just deactivated.

06Your choices, including deletion

  • Change your voice and your evening check-in time any time in Settings
  • To correct your birth date, location or name, write to us at the address below and we will update it for you
  • Turn off push notifications from your device's system settings
  • Ask what data we hold about you, or request a copy, by writing to us
  • If you are in the EU or UK, you can also object to or restrict certain uses, ask for your data to be moved elsewhere, withdraw consent at any time, and complain to your local data protection authority

Deleting your account: open Settings, then Delete Account, inside the app. This is permanent and immediate. Your profile, every daily entry, every forecast, and every Tarot pull are removed from our database and cannot be recovered. If you signed in with Apple, we also revoke Balbina's access to your Apple ID, as Apple requires. There is no separate request process. The app does it for you directly.

07Children's privacy

Balbina is for people 16 and over. When you set up your profile, the app asks for your birth date and stops anyone under 16 from continuing. It can only go by the date you enter, and sign-up asks for your email before your birth date, so if you believe someone under 16 has an account with us, write to us and we will delete it. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

08Security

We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections, access controls, and a managed authentication provider, to protect your information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep your data protected at every step above.

09Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will update the effective date above and, for significant changes, let you know inside the app.

10Contact

Questions about this policy or your data can go to balbina@balbina.app.
